Died: Jan 12, 2004

 

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be Denny Cole, Denny Jens, Ed Todd, Pat McFate, Pat Cooney, and Doug Roelle.  Honorary bearers will be Fred Malone, Randy Fix, and Thomas Geschwell.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.  

Jeff was born on August 30, 1952, in Ottumwa, the son of Bernard L. "Ozzie" and Barbara J. Morrison Osborn.  He married Mary F. Smith, October 10, 1992, in Muscatine.

He was a member of Elks Lodge #304; a director in the Muscatine Men's Bowling Association and on the Board of Directors of the GPC Credit Union.

He enjoyed bowling with eight 300's and two 800 series.  He enjoyed NASCAR, boating, his cabin, and his dog, Sage.

He was the Superintendent of alcohol loading at Grain Processing Corporation.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Muscatine; one son, Chad J. Osborn and his wife, Melissa, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one daughter, Julie K. Osborn and her special friend, Andrew Scanlan, of St. Louis, Missouri; two step sons, Chris and Justin Miller of Muscatine; one step daughter, Savanna Miller of Muscatine; two step grandchildren; his father, Bernard L. "Ozzie" Osborn of Muscatine; and two brothers, Randy R. Osborn and his wife, Dee, of Muscatine and Frank A. Osborn and his wife, Susan, of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara, in 2000, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

I was sorry to hear about Jeff's untimely death. He was a genuine friend and we had some pretty crazy times.
