Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, S.C., is handling the arrangements.

She was born in Muscatine on August 26, 1952, the daughter of the late Paul Raymond and Phyllis Naomi Sloan Kempf.

She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1970.

Formerly employed by HON Industries, she moved to South Carolina to open their operation in Winnsboro. She later was an executive assistant with Stevens and Wilkinson.

Her special interests included her grandchildren, the beach and sewing. She was a member of First Christian Church where she sang in the choir and had recently been elected deacon and served as chairwoman of the Missions Committee.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula W. Mitchell and husband Brian and Kelle R. McLaughlin, all of Chapin; a son, Gary P. Weikert and wife Tiffany of Muscatine; a sister, Paula Kempf-Behrens and husband Bob Behrens of Muscatine; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Garret Mitchell and Lelania Weikert; and a nephew, Patrick Kempf
